Chad Hunter

Laurel Highlands Council is proud to announce the appointment of Chad Hunter as the new District Executive for its Frontier District.

Hunter is former Executive Director of the Hollywood Theater in Dormont, and holds degrees from the University of Michigan and Carnegie Mellon University. His previous employers include George Eastman Museum in Rochester, NY; the rural arts organization Appalshop in eastern Kentucky; and musician Peter Gabriel's human rights organization Witness in New York City.

Growing up in the Lansing, Michigan area, he was a third generation Boy Scout in the Chief Okemos Council. “My father was my Scoutmaster, and his father was his Scoutmaster, so it’s in my blood,” Hunter remarked. “My first formal leadership role in life was as a patrol leader in my Troop, and it made a lasting impression on me,” he noted, adding that “Scouting can make a big difference in young people’s lives, and I really look forward to this new role working with the kids and parents of the Frontier District.”

The Frontier District of the Laurel Highlands Council serves over 1,000 youths in Green Tree, Carnegie, Crafton, Ingram, Robinson, North Fayette, McKees Rock, Coraopolis, Moon Township, Imperial, Clinton, Crescent, Heidelberg, Kirwin Heights, Scott, Bridgeville, and South Fayette.

For information about Scouting in the Frontier District, please contact Chad Hunter atchad.hunter@scouting.org, or 412-325-7969.
